GIRLS ON THE RUN ST LOUIS
WHO: Girls on the Run St Louis -- our longest, most treasured relationship.
WHEN: TWICE A YEAR, EVERY YEAR
WHY: We remember over ten years ago when Girls on the Run was first launching their St Louis 5K program. After discussions with Courtney Berg, their executive director, it became clear the partnership was aligned and destined for long-term success. Their original intention was to differentiate their 5k from every other 5k in this city, and differentiate they did. Girls on the Run has gained so much momentum and we're elated to have been a part of their growth thus far. Their event began as 100 girls in Forest Park and is now nearly 10,000 people gathering together in downtown St. Louis.
WHAT: Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. The mission of Girls on the Run St. Louis is to empower girls for a lifetime of healthy living. The program is designed for girls in the 3rd through 8th grades, and it inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
HOW WE HELPED: Our involvement at Girls on the Run is helping to create an atmosphere. Utopia Entertainment provides DJ's, Dancers and Emcees to every Girls on the Run event.
The energy at the Girls on the Run 5k is just INSANE! Fast forward nearly ten years later and our partnership still remains intact with the mission to celebrate life and empower these young women.
The highlight video we created (below) will forever preserve that memory.
What an honor to bring joy and celebration to empower these women for a lifetime of health, happiness and joy. We're excited for the future of our partnership; to continue serving these women who are destined to become leaders, entrepreneurs and influencers changing the community and the world at large. That's a mission we can stand behind!
We love you Girls on the Run!
THE TEAM THAT MAKES IT POSSIBLE:
Kerry – The Emcee of emcees is driven by connecting people and creating a space where people of all ages can celebrate together. Kerry played both high school and college football, but his passion is entertainment and connecting people. Kerry's personality, ability to connect, and dancing style all helped energize and empower MizzouThon for nearly 13 hours!
Nick - Recognized as one of St Louis' leaders in hip-hop culture and dance, Nick has since been an architect in Utopia's growth since inception in 2001. He was a finalist on "So You Think You Can Dance." Through his art, NIck has collaborated with Nelly, Jay Z, Kanye and Black Eyed Peas, but his greatest art is connecting people of all ages together in celebration.
Katie- Katie earned her degree in public health and she's currently one of St Louis' most energetic personal trainers. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she brings great energy and warmth to Utopia as our newest emcee.
Roe – Our Lead DJ, Roe White, has been with Utopia for 14 years. Roe started as a dancer, became an Emcee, but his true passion -- where he found his love, was behind the DJ booth on the turntables as our lead DJ. Roe is also an owner of Utopia. The fate of the company lies largely in Roe's hands as he cultivates and trains new talent. Our talent keeps us alive and we're thankful Roe has played such an integral role in our company for over a decade.
Rian- Rian, a former Chris Brown choreographer, is a quick-witted hipster who is always inspiring, motivating, and uplifting the people around him. His soul is motivated by great energy, interaction and emotion.
