Association of Fundraising St. Louis Chapter Takes Us Back To The Future

The St. Louis chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals gave us a glimpse of the future – hosting a conference for non-profit organizations throughout the midwest – going virtual.

AFP’s theme fit the program with their title “Back To The Future – Looking Ahead With 20/20 Vision,” and a ‘how-to’ tutorial map into 2021.

It’s ironic and logical that the planners had to pivot from in-person sessions to a virtual conference taking place online.

The shift in plans didn’t deter hundreds of nonprofits from attending online with a full menu of seminars throughout the day with both live and pre-recorded sessions from our Utopia Entertainment studios.

For this event, we faced the challenge of broadcasting multiple programs live in our studios – each taking place simultaneously. Attendees had the option of selecting programs most applicable to their fundraising needs.  We staffed multiple studios with live speakers alongside pre-recorded sessions from 7:30 am to the conference conclusion at midday.

We were all really happy. We were overwhelmingly grateful we made the choice to go with you. There was so much appreciation from the attendees and the board with the results. I don’t think anyone anticipated it to look so finished and so well put together.”

So what was Utopia’s ROle in The Back to The Future Conference?

Programs ranged from utilizing technology during the pandemic, motivating millennials to understand your donor base and managing budgets.

In addition, the President of Utopia, Joey Goone was included in the curriculum.  Joey’s presentation provided insight on both virtual and hybrid events with guidelines on how to transition and pivot into these new platforms.

We were happy to partner with AFP’s Senior Development Director, Lyndsey Reichardt and Senior Development Director from Kids in the Middle, Sarah Barone to help plan and execute the day.  Overall there were four sessions with multiple programs taking place during each session. The day’s events concluded with the key speakers assembled together in multiple chat rooms for a Q and A with attendees.

Special thanks to AFP for entrusting us to help non-profits take look back at 2020 with vision and focus forward as they navigate new horizons into the future for 2021.

Utopia’s Presentation:

I think ya’ll are amazing and wonderful and I’m so glad ya’ll were there.”
