Virtual and Hybrid events

Virtual events are rapidly becoming the norm, and when the time comes for us to celebrate in person again, we don’t anticipate the virtual component of events disappearing. Instead, we see hybrid events becoming more and more popular. Hosting an in-person event while including a live-stream supplement allows your organization to reach beyond geographical proximity. In addition, guests who might not yet feel comfortable attending your event can support your organization from the comfort of their homes.

Recent Events

Quest Academy

This past May we produced our first virtual gala! From our studio, we produced the first-ever online gala for Quest Academy out of Chicago. The following week we drove to Chicago to produce their drive-in graduation.

Step up for Down Syndrome

The Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis hosts its largest fundraising event in June. This year it went virtual. Complete with karaoke, trivia and multiple dance parties, we brought the community together from the comfort of their own homes.

Duchesne Graduation

Duchesne High School wanted to ensure that even amidst the pandemic the senior class was celebrated. We produced a drive-in graduation which allowed the Class of 2020 to have their graduation while abiding by social distancing guidelines.

We hired Utopia to produce our online virtual auction when we had to cancel our live event at the last minute. This was the best decision we could have made. As one of the first organizations to host a simulcast “live” Live Auction, I can honestly say our success was due to the hard work, dedication, and professionalism from Utopia. I’ve gotten nothing but positive feedback from our auction attendees. (For the first time in years, I didn’t get any negative feedback!) We were nervous about going virtual, and Utopia knocked it out of the park for us! They saved our event. Utopia made online bidding while sitting and looking at a screen fun! Utopia is by far the best production company out there! Thank you!

Karen Dickerson

Director of Development, Quest Academy

I really enjoyed working with Utopia’s entire entertainment team for our virtual event. I would highly recommend any nonprofit doing so, mostly just because we didn’t know what we were doing going into a virtual event.  They made all of our dreams for this event come true. We didn’t have to guess at what was possible.  Step up is our largest event and brings in more than 1/3 of our annual operating budget. When the pandemic hit, it would be a huge loss for us not to do something in that space.  We were able to raise our net goal, which allowed us to serve over 1,900 families in our region without cutting back on any of our resources. We are so very thankful we were still able to host this event, and we are so very thankful for our partnership.

Amber McWilliams

Director of Special Events, Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis

As graduation came closer, our faculty and staff struggled to find the best way to celebrate the class of 2020, while ensuring we were keeping our students and their families safe. From our first conversation with the Utopia Entertainment team, we knew that we were in the best of hands. Hosting a drive-in graduation, while not our original plan, allowed our students to celebrate their achievements together in a unique way. And one that they will never forget. It also allowed friends and family members to watch the live-stream from home. Thank you, Utopia, for not only making this event possible but for making it seamless, professional and more than anything, a celebration for our students and families!

Our founder

In 2002, Jodi Goone left her full-time job as an educator to pursue a legacy that is known today as Utopia Entertainment. Her vision and desire was to create sparks of authentic joy through various forms of entertainment that would be capable of sustaining a lifetime of memories. After giving her all in the fight against cancer, Jodi passed away in 2013, but her spirit, passion and determination is what continues to live on in Utopia and it fuels the company for the success it has been today.

At the end of each day, our company prides itself in knowing we have provided an unforgettable experience with memories that will last a lifetime. Our goal is to change the energy of the world by sharing Jodi’s mission with you.
